Eye problems rarely wait for a convenient time. Our optometrists are trained and licensed to diagnose and treat urgent eye conditions — often faster and at lower cost than an emergency room, with the right equipment to actually look inside the eye. Call the office nearest you and tell us it is urgent; we hold same-day slots for emergencies.
Conditions we treat
Pink eye and other infections; something in the eye (metal, dust, debris); scratched cornea; chemical splashes; sudden flashes, floaters or a “curtain” over vision; sudden eye pain or light sensitivity; red or swollen eyelids and styes; contact-lens-related pain; sudden double vision or vision loss.
When to go straight to the ER
Chemical burns after flushing, penetrating injuries, or eye trauma with other serious injuries should go directly to the nearest emergency department. Call 911 for any life-threatening situation.
After-hours
If we are closed, our voicemail lists after-hours instructions. For sudden vision loss, flashes with a curtain, or severe pain, do not wait until morning — seek emergency care.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be an existing patient?
No. We welcome new patients for urgent visits at either office.
Is urgent eye care covered?
Coverage varies by plan — call the office and we will check your benefits when we schedule your visit.
Should I remove my contact lens?
Yes — remove lenses and bring them with you in a case if possible. Do not rinse an eye with tap water except for chemical exposure.
